Ex-Arsenal star, stable in hospital amid fears he suffered a brain haemorrhage

A former Arsenal player is reportedly in a 'stable condition' after he was rushed to hospital on Saturday after a ball had struck him in the head during a football match.

The 26-year-old had been hit in the face with the ball from close range.

The incident occurred as RWD Molenbeek were beaten 3-1 at home to Charleroi in the Belgian Pro League.

Molenbeek manager Yannick Ferreira stated that there were fears that the player had suffered a brain hemorrhage.

However, the player posted a positive update on Saturday night regarding his situation and reports from French outlet L'Equipe, per Get French Football News, claim that he had 'undergone medical examinations and was observed overnight'

Attacking midfielder Jeff Reine-Adelaide collapsed on the pitch following the incident and was unconscious for ten minutes.

L'Equipe reports that those close to the player had told Molenbeek that the results from the tests were 'reassuring'.

The French outlet had also stated that a member of his entourage had said: 'Jeff is fine. There is no haemorrhage or after-effects.'

The team's coach, Yannick Ferrera had said after the match: 'We fear a brain hemorrhage. But we cannot yet estimate the seriousness of his head injury. We won't see him on the field again this season but above all we hope that everything goes well for him.'

Reine-Adelaide posted a positive message to fans on Instagram on Saturday night.

He wrote: 'Thanks for your messages of support, more fear than evil.'

Reine-Adelaide's former club Lyon sent their best wishes to Reine-Adelaide.

They wrote on X:  'Olympique Lyonnais is with you at this difficult time.

'We wish you a speedy recovery, courage and strength to you.'

Reine-Adelaide joined Arsenal as a youngster in 2015 and remained at
